The Impact We Have

Academic Impact

For us as a school, maximising the potential of our pupils is primarily about maximising educational opportunities and academic outcomes. We recognise that each child is different, with different strengths and learning needs and we seek to deliver a curriculum that caters for all children and meets the requirements of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.

With carefully planned lessons that are differentiated to the needs of the class, our staff seek to help children learn the knowledge and skills that they will need for the future. Our expectations are for each child to apply themselves, to engage in their learning and achieve the very best that they can. We have a staff team, each with their specific individual role, dedicated to helping each child reach this goal. For some, extra help with certain areas of the curriculum is required and our SENCo and team of classroom assistants are on hand to support the class teachers deliver the individualised support that these pupils require.

From P3-P7, each of our pupils will sit standardised online tests that measure the progress that they are making year on year in English and mathematics and inform the next stages of their learning.

Preparation For Post-Primary School

Each year our P7 pupils transfer from primary education to a number of different post-primary schools. Whether through the AQE or GL Test system to grammar schools or through the Department of Education’s transfer procedure, we help prepare each child for their transition. Over the last number of years, we have sent pupils to:

Social Impact

It is not just our pupils that we impact each day. As a school community, we support a number of charities each year. As a school family we have committed to support two children in Ethiopia through the Stand By Me charity. Thanks to the generosity of the King’s Park family, Hayat and Cara have the opportunity to grow up and learn in a loving and caring environment that allows them to thrive and develop into kind, generous and capable young people.
