Home Learning Resources

Not all learning has to happen in school. In the event of our pupils having to stay at home, there are a number of resources that families can access to keep the learning going. Pupils can access their school folders, applications and online tools through the My School link below. They will need their username and passwords to access the interface. More advice can be found on this helpsheet.

At King’s Park, we also use Reading Eggs and Mathletics to reinforce and consolidate learning. Pupils will also have passwords for accessing these resources.

Just 2 Easy

At King’s Park, we use the Just2Easy tool suite as our online learning platform for homework and correspondence. In the eventuality of remote learning having to take place, we will use the platform.

The Parent Portal is used for correspondence and is the link between school and parents. Any parent is able to download this app and link to their child’s account. If you have more than one child, you will be able to access each of their accounts.

Students can access their Just2Easy login both in school and at home. They will have full access to their files, view and respond to activities, view announcements from the teacher, and comment on their own work. Students cannot log in as another student, see another student’s work, or comment on another student’s work. The pupil login is cloud based and can be accessed through any web browser on any device.

Your child’s teacher will supply you with an invitation email to set up the parent account. Our pupils will use their C2K logins to access Just2 Easy.

Microsoft

All pupils in Northern Ireland have access to a free download of Microsoft Office for a home computer or tablet, allowing them to open any documents that they create or use in school. The following instructions will help you download Office. Click on the image to start the process.

Other Resources

There are plenty of online resources that can be accessed to supplement pupil learning. BBC Skillwise is an excellent resource for learning, covering all areas of the primary curriculum. Khan Academy offers instructional lessons for free and is an excellent resource. It is based on the American curriculum, but covers many aspects of our curriculum. It is particularly useful for mathematics lessons. Grid Club offers pupils plenty of gaming options for pupils to test their understanding of a range of their curriculum. The games require Flash so may not work on iPads. However, the games are available on the Apple App Store.

Your child can take this opportunity to learn something new. What about learning a new language? Duolingo can help! Or they could develop their coding skills with Blockly or Scratch.

Making sure that our pupils continue to stay active is important and Go Noodle offers children opportunities to use their screen to get up on their feet and move.

There are lots of websites online that offer pupils the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of many topics. The National Geographic Kids site has lots of really interesting articles, quizzes and fun activities to explore. TED Ed also offers older pupils an interesting variety of topics that older pupils can explore. Please note that parents may wish to review this site with their child first as some topics are suited to older children.
